Product Specification
Available in light as well as heavy varieties, the range of magnesium carbonate is extensively used in antacid preparations. It also finds application in talcum/face powder, rubber, glass, inks, ready made foods products, free flow salts and varied other products. Its specifications are given below: • Description : Very Light, white powder, odourless 15 gms. occupies about a 180 ml • Solubility : Practically insoluble in water, dissolves in dilute acids with strong effervescence • Standards : Light Magnesium Carbonate contains the equivalent of not less than 40% and not more than 45.0% of magnesium oxide • Arsenic : Not more than 2 ppm • Heavy Metals : Not more than 20 ppm • Chloride : Not more than 0.1% • Sulphate : Not more than 0.3% • Calcium : Not more than 0.75% • Copper : Nil, complies test • Iron : Not more than 400 ppm • Soluble substance : Not more than 1.0% • Substance insoluble in acetic acid : Not more than 0.05%
